Tiki says: “Follow What Rings True!”
by joyyoga

Hello to my yogi and yogini friends! I hope you all had a great weekend and got outside to enjoy the gorgeous weather. When I wasn't up at the studio, snagging extras carrots, I got to go on an extra long walk and enjoyed it immensely myself.
So one night this week, while on duty as yoga-dog, I heard several students asking my mommy how I got along with my two kittie-cat little brothers. This was the first time it occurred to me that most people think dogs and cats shouldn't get along, and maybe some people would consider my relationship with my kittie-cat little brothers inappropriate and maybe even a little shocking. I guess I must be a pretty open-minded little Chihuahua because I've always loved Mack, and I especially enjoy playing with Kisa whom I've trained to knock treats off the counter for me. Even though from the outside our dog/cat relationship might seem strange, it's always felt right to me to wrestle and play with my siblings. In fact, I know my life wouldn't be as full and exciting if they weren't in it.
I know sometimes it's hard to stay true to your intuition and what you feel is right for you, especially when people around you are questioning what you do. From time to time, we all feel drawn to make choices that other people might think are crazy, but that you know in your heart are the right choices for you. Sometimes, it's related to relationships, like it is with me and my relationship with Mack and Kisa; or it could be related to many other things, like job choices, for example. (I know my mommy has first-hand experience with that one - from what she's told me, everyone thought she was crazy when she quit engineering to become a yoga teacher!) But look at all the wonders that await you when you follow your intuition and do what rings true for you - I mean, I get to run, play, and snuggle with my little brothers, and my mommy gets to hang out with all you wonderful yogis everyday. If we had listened to what people thought from looking in from the outside, we might be missing out on some wonderful stuff!
So remember to always listen to that little voice inside. Even if it feels scary or other people just don't get it, following our intuition and doing what we know in our heart is right for us is how we live authentically, fully, and joyfully!
Namaste,
Tiki.
